Isagi Yoichi is invited to Blue Lock, which seeks to train and pick the best striker out of 300 high-school forwards who can win Japan the World Cup.

The top five players in Blue Lock will play as forwards in the U-20 Cup. Those who drop out will lose the chance to play for the Japanese team.

The first selection is the round-robin tournament of five teams. But due to a special rule, the matches turn into chaotic scrambling for the ball.

Responding to Ego's urge to "take up a weapon," the players discuss what their weapons are for the matches. Isagi struggles to identify what it is.
