In Blue Lock's second selection, a teammate becomes a foe, and a foe becomes a teammate. Isagi meets Itoshi Rin, the strongest egoist he's ever met.

Isagi Yoichi is invited to Blue Lock, which seeks to train and pick the best striker out of 300 high-school forwards who can win Japan the World Cup.

The top five players in Blue Lock will play as forwards in the U-20 Cup. Those who drop out will lose the chance to play for the Japanese team.

The first selection is the round-robin tournament of five teams. But due to a special rule, the matches turn into chaotic scrambling for the ball.

Responding to Ego's urge to "take up a weapon," the players discuss what their weapons are for the matches. Isagi struggles to identify what it is.

Relying on his raw instinct of "the smell of the goal," Isagi battles Team Y's playmaker, Niko Ikki, as they "read" each other's hand on the field.

The next match is against Team W, led by the Wanima twins. Their eye contact and impeccable combinations are hard to beat.

Team Z faces an opponent who knows everything about their weapons. But they don't give up the fight, and Isagi continues to believe in himself.

Needing to win against the strongest team in the group, Isagi goes to meet with a certain someone to attain the secret formula for scoring goals.

About to give up against Team V, Bachira Meguru's play sets fire on the ego in Team Z's hearts. The awakening of the diamonds in the rough has begun.

Team Z have the momentum of the game. But Team V's monster, Nagi, has "awakened." In the chain reaction to awakening, Isagi learns to use his weapon.

Isagi finds the final piece of the puzzle that's necessary for his evolution. The first selection of Blue Lock, where ego comes head-to-head, ends.
