Yesterday around noon, Phil Samson, an editor for the Squidbillies, was wearing the new Edit-Cam helmet device and decided to order a sandwich from the Jersey Mike's sandwich chain. Jersey Mike's asked Samson for his phone number and credit card info, which Samson provided without second-thought to the recording device on his head.
Shortly thereafter, an anonymous message board user called Samson's now public number and alerted him to the possible danger to Samson's identity.
Samson immediately canceled the card, which in retrospect was a mistake because Jersey Mike's had not run his card yet. When they did run the card,they found out it was cancelled. Samson's lunch was tragically delayed, but the possible thievery of his identity was avoided.
