When the Griffins take a trip to Lois' childhood home, Lois decides to finally pursue her childhood dream of becoming a model. Peter and the guys set out on a long fishing trip to catch a huge score, but get shipwrecked in the process and become stranded on a desert island. After a while, they're rescued and Peter returns home to find out Lois married someone else to make sure her family was taken care of: Brian.

Frustrated, he decides to start his own television station so he can have control of the airwaves. Brian loses his job at the New Yorker after it's discovered that he doesn't have a college degree. He decides to return to Brown and get his diploma. Struggling with his grade in Advanced Physics, he decides to cheat with help from Stewie, thus becoming the teacher's pet.

Lois discovers that she has a long-lost brother, Patrick (voiced by Robert Downey Jr.), who Carter and Babs have kept hidden in a mental hospital. When Patrick comes to live with the Griffins, it quickly becomes apparent that he's deeply disturbed. Meanwhile, Peter founds the NAAFP to fight for the rights of Quahog's obese population.
